May Fair in Junction City.

The annual May Fair will be at  the Junction City Park with vendors, music and Maypole dance.  The Maypole dance is great for kids and adults alike. No one decorates a Maypole without smiling. I have participated and the end result is beautifully decorated pole, but the kids have a blast. The kids have all kinds of games, treats, and this event is mostly done for the children.

Historical Joss House in Weaverville, California

The other day I went to the festival and my camera broke, so I thought to drop by the Joss House and take a few photos.  The house is very old, the oldest continuously  used Chinese temple in California..  One of the only Joss house made of wood  in the entire nation.

The building has ornate decorations on it, and trim which is like no other.  The Joss house also has a small museum located just over the creek, which is where you pay to enter the Joss House.  If you are traveling through highway 299 east or west you should take some time and check out the Joss House.  There truly is nothing like it anywhere else.

The park facility is located right on highway 299, across from the Highland Art Center.  It is also near the Weaverville museum.

Ducks on the Trinity River

I love the ducks that fly in and out of the river. They are beautiful, but very hard to get photos of, they always see me sneak up on them, so many of my photos are of them rapidly leaving the scene.
